        abstract = {This study is motivated by the growing concern over environmental issues in the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage, which contributes to ecological problems such as waste generation and excessive resource consumption. The study aims to examine the implementation of environmentally friendly Hajj guidance conducted by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Yogyakarta City. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of Hajj officials, Hajj guidance officers, and pilgrims. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that environmentally friendly Hajj values have been integrated into pilgrim guidance activities from the pre-departure stage to the implementation and post-Hajj phases. Environmental awareness was promoted through recommendations to reduce single-use plastics, use reusable water bottles, conserve water, carry reusable shopping bags, and maintain cleanliness. These efforts have contributed to the development of pilgrims? ecological awareness, reflected in their habit of disposing of waste properly without continuous supervision. However, the implementation still faces challenges due to the absence of a specific and systematic guideline or module on Green Hajj. This study concludes that environmentally friendly Hajj guidance has been implemented effectively, yet requires stronger policy support and standardized materials to ensure greater effectiveness and sustainability.}
