abstract: This study aims to examine the influence of social media, the use of ecommerce
(Shopee), and Islamic financial literacy on the consumptive behavior of
Yogyakarta university students, with self control as a moderating variable. This
quantitative study used a questionnaire as the data collection method. A total of 165
respondents were selected through purposive sampling. This study used a Partial
Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach with the aid of
SmartPLS 4.1.1.8 software. The results indicate that social media and the use of ecommerce
(Shopee) have a positive effect on consumptive behavior. Meanwhile,
Islamic financial literacy has a negative effect on consumptive behavior.
Furthermore, self-control can moderate the influence of social media on
consumptive behavior. Finally, self control cannot moderate the influence of the use
of e-commerce (Shopee) and Islamic financial literacy on consumptive behavior.
