Dalam perkembangannya, RLWE jadi salah satu kandidat kuat standardisasi kriptografi pasca-kuantum berbasis latis atau kisi (lattice-based). Hadirnya RLWE didasari oleh kemunculan komputasi kuantum, seperti algoritma Shor yang mampu memfaktorkan bilangan besar secara cepat, sehingga keamanan pada sistem kriptografi kunci publik klasik seperti RSA dan ECC juga mulai terancam. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada mekanisme kerja sistem kriptografi kunci publik RLWE dalam ring Rq = Zq[x]/⟨xn +1⟩, dengan q berupa modulus bilangan prima dan n = 2k, dengan k ∈ Z. Mekanisme ini meliputi proses pembangkitan kunci, enkripsi, dan dekripsi pesan. Selain dikaji secara manual, pada implementasi skema tersebut pula dikaji secara komputasi menggunakan perangkat lunak Sage- Math.
