Education (RME) approach based on ethnomathematics on creative thinking skills&#13;
in number patterns. This is a quantitative study using an experimental method. The&#13;
research design used in this study is a Quasi-Experimental design with a&#13;
Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study consists of all&#13;
eighth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Kasihan Junior High School for the&#13;
2025/2026 academic year. The sampling technique used is cluster random&#13;
sampling, resulting in the selection of an experimental class and a control class.&#13;
The sample for this study consists of Class VIII B as the experimental class and&#13;
Class VIII C as the control class. The independent variable in this study is the&#13;
Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach based on ethnomathematics,&#13;
and the dependent variable is creative thinking ability regarding number patterns.&#13;
The data collection instruments used were pre-test and post-test questions assessing&#13;
creative thinking ability. The data analysis techniques used in this study were the&#13;
Mann-Whitney test and the effect size test to determine the level of effectiveness.&#13;
The data analysis process was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 26 software.&#13;
The results of this study indicate that the ethnomathematics-based Realistic&#13;
Mathematics Education (RME) approach is effective in enhancing creative thinking&#13;
skills regarding number patterns among eighth-grade students at SMP&#13;
Muhammadiyah Kasihan. This conclusion is based on the results of the hypothesis&#13;
test using the Mann-Whitney posttest, which yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value&#13;
