"This study was motivated by the continued existence of the Merariq\r\ntradition among the Sasak community in Petemon, East Pagutan, Mataram, despite\r\nthe ongoing challenges of modernization and social change. The tradition is not\r\nonly preserved as a form of cultural identity but is also regarded as embodying\r\nIslamic educational values that have been transmitted across generations. This study\r\naims to analyze the factors contributing to the sustainability of the Merariq\r\ntradition, identify the Islamic educational values embedded within it, and describe\r\nhow these values are actualized in the daily lives of the community.\r\nThis study employed a qualitative approach using a field research design.\r\nData were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with traditional\r\nleaders, religious leaders, local government officials, and community members, as\r\nwell as documentation. The data were analyzed through the processes of data\r\nreduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the validity of the findings\r\nwas ensured through source and technique triangulation.\r\nThe findings reveal that the sustainability of the Merariq tradition is\r\ninfluenced by the strong transmission of cultural heritage, the active roles of\r\ntraditional and religious leaders, the cultural identity of the Sasak community, and\r\nthe tradition's ability to adapt to Islamic values and contemporary social\r\ndevelopments. The Islamic educational values identified in this study include\r\nfamily values, religiosity, responsibility, identity and diversity, self-reflection,\r\neducation, and social solidarity. These values are actualized throughout every stage\r\nof the Merariq tradition through deliberation (musyawarah), strengthening family\r\nties (silaturahmi), the solemnization of marriage in accordance with Islamic law,\r\nexpressions of gratitude, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and social\r\nresponsibility. Therefore, the Merariq tradition functions not only as a cultural\r\nheritage but also as an effective medium for the internalization and transmission of\r\nIslamic educational values within the Sasak community."^^ .
