"abstract": "The Doa Kepadang tradition is a cultural practice of the Ngaol Village community, Tabir Barat Subdistrict, Merangin Regency, Jambi, performed before the rice-planting season as a request to Allah SWT for safety, blessing, and a good harvest. Amid modernization, part of the community regards this tradition as rich in Islamic educational values, while others consider certain ritual elements potentially at odds with normative Islamic teaching, leaving younger generations struggling to distinguish customary practice from Shariah-based teaching, this gap in scholarship motivated the present study. This study aims to analyze the background of the tradition's continued preservation, to identify the process and meaning of the equipment used in its implementation, and to identify the Islamic educational values embedded within it.\r\nThis study employed a qualitative field-research design with an ethnographic approach; data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity verified through triangulation.\r\nThe findings show that the tradition's preservation is sustained by the community's belief in customary and religious values, gratitude, mutual cooperation, and the role of traditional and religious leaders, that the ritual equipment carries philosophical and spiritual meaning symbolizing gratitude, hope for blessing, and a harmonious relationship among humans, nature, and the Creator; and that the tradition embodies values of faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), and morality (akhlaq), reflected in gratitude, togetherness, and respect for custom and fellow community members. The study concludes that the Doa Kepadang tradition remains relevant as a cultural heritage that functions as a medium for internalizing Islamic educational values and as a vehicle for social and religious education in Ngaol Village, while also contributing academically to the development of locally grounded studies in Islamic education and offering practical guidance for traditional leaders, village officials, and the community in balancing cultural preservation with strengthening younger generations' understanding of normative Islam.",
