      "abstract": "This study was motivated by the limited use of learning media\r\nin Javanese language literacy for children aged 4–5 years, as\r\nwell as the still low level of children’s understanding of\r\nJavanese language literacy with Yogyakarta cultural content.\r\nFurthermore, with the progression of the 21st century, local\r\ncultural content has increasingly been displaced by foreign\r\ncultures, leading to a continued lack of proficiency in Javanese\r\ngrammar and an understanding of cultural diversity—\r\nparticularly in the Special Region of Yogyakarta—which must\r\nbe adapted to children’s developmental stages. The flipbook\r\nmedia was designed with an engaging interface using\r\nsmartboard technology to boost children’s enthusiasm for\r\nlearning activities.\r\nJavanese language literacy is crucial as a child’s ability to\r\nunderstand and appreciate culture, as well as literacy as an\r\nintegral part of behaving in harmony with the socio-cultural\r\nenvironment. Literacy serves as a foundational aspect for\r\nchildren in interacting, understanding vocabulary, and solving\r\nproblems. This study employs the Research and Development\r\n(R&D) method, based on the ADDIE model, which comprises\r\nfive stages: analysis, design, development, implementation,\r\nand evaluation. The subjects in this study were children aged\r\n4–5 years in Class A2 at TK ABA Bayen Kalasan, Sleman, with\r\na total of 17 children. Product analysis techniques included\r\nfeasibility and effectiveness tests. Product evaluation was\r\nconducted using the V formula (Validity of Presentation) to\r\ndetermine the validity level of the developed media.\r\nMeanwhile, the effectiveness test used a paired-sample t-test\r\nwith a one-group pretest-posttest design.\r\nThe research results indicate that the Nguri Baja flipbook\r\nmedia for improving Javanese language literacy yielded\r\nseveral findings, namely: 1) the Nguri Baja flipbook media\r\nreceived a score of 80% from media experts, categorized as\r\n“acceptable”; from language experts, 98%; and from content\r\nexperts, 96%. Based on these results, it was classified as\r\n“Highly Acceptable” for use in instruction. 2) Practicality was\r\nevident in the teachers’ response evaluations, which yielded a\r\nscore of 95.71%, resulting in a rating of “very practical.” 3)\r\nThe “Nguri Baja” flipbook is effective, as demonstrated by an\r\nincrease in data from the normality test, yielding a result of\r\n0.282—greater than 0.05—and a t-test using the Jamovi\r\napplication with a paired t-test model, yielding a result of\r\n0.001—less than 0.05. Thus, a significant difference was found\r\nbefore and after the use of the media. Based on the results, it\r\ncan be concluded that the Nguri Baja flipbook is suitable,\r\neffective, and practical for Javanese language literacy\r\nlearning; furthermore, it introduces local culture in\r\nYogyakarta.",
