Although Quizizz has been widely adopted to support interactive assessment, its implementation still raises several challenges that require further investigation. This study aims to examine the problems encountered in the implementation of Quizizz as an assessment tool in Arabic language learning and to identify its strengths and limitations from the perspectives of lecturers and students. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through field research. Data were collected using semistructured interviews with one Arabic language lecturer and three university students who had experienced Quizizz-based assessments. The data were analyzed descriptively and validated through source triangulation, supported by relevant literature. The findings indicate that Quizizz enhances students’ engagement through gamified features, provides immediate feedback, facilitates automatic scoring, and enables lecturers to monitor students’ learning progress efficiently. However, several challenges were identified, including limited opportunities to assess students’ higher-order thinking skills, time constraints during quizzes, lengthy preparation of assessment items, and the possibility of academic dishonesty. Despite these limitations, both lecturers and students perceived Quizizz as an attractive and practical assessment medium that supports digital learning, particularly for Generation Z learners.
