description: This study is aimed to determine the effectiveness of OPAC based  SIPRUS for information retrieval on the user perception in the library SMA  Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. Tthis study uses single variable that is  effectiveness of OPAC based SIPRUS. This study conducted the user in the  Library of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. In this study, the researcher  chooses nonprobability sampling by using accidental sampling technique.  According to Sugiyono (2008:85) the sampling techniques accident or accidental  meeting with investigators is amounted to 89 respondents. The analyses of data  that used are mean, Grand Mean, validity, reliability, Product Moment Correlation  and Alpha. The result of this study is obtained by the Grand Mean values of 3.54  and it can be concluded that the effectiveness OPAC based SIPRUS for  information retrieval on the perception user in the library SMA Muhammadiyah 2  Yogyakarta is belong to effective category.
