"Academic stress among Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) students is a psychological issue that\r\nrequires attention because it may affect students’ emotional well-being and learning\r\nprocesses. Internal factors such as self-compassion and self-esteem are considered\r\nimportant in helping students cope with academic pressure more adaptively. This study\r\naimed to examine the relationship between self-compassion, self-esteem, and academic\r\nstress among MTs students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a\r\ncorrelational design. The participants consisted of 351 MTs students in Pekalongan\r\nselected through cluster sampling technique. Data were collected using the Self-\r\nCompassion Scale (SCS), Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI), and Educational\r\nStress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA). The data were analyzed using multiple regression\r\nanalysis. The results showed a relationship between self-compassion and self-esteem with\r\nacademic stress among MTs students (R = 0.398; R² = 0.159; F = 32.8; p < 0.001).\r\nPartially, self-compassion (β = -0.198; p < 0.001) and self-esteem (β = -0.198; p = 0.004)\r\neach had a significant negative effect on academic stress. These findings indicate that\r\nhigher levels of self-compassion and self-esteem are associated with lower levels of\r\nacademic stress. This study highlights the importance of developing self-compassion and\r\nself-esteem as preventive efforts to reduce academic stress among MTs students."^^ . "2026-06-24" . . . .
