%T UPAYA PERPUSTAKAAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 1 SEYEGAN
%X This study aims to determine the role of the library in improving student learning at SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study, namely research that describes the facts between the phenomena investigated and to understand the phenomena of what the research subjects experience by describing and collecting data through direct involvement in the field using interview, observation and documentation techniques. Informants consisted of the principal, librarian, teacher and 5 (five) students as data sources. For data validity, triangulation was used by combining the results of the data obtained. The results of the study can be concluded that the efforts of the SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan library include increasing the collection of diverse books, providing a comfortable and conducive reading room, a place for discussion, used by teachers for learning, and implementing literacy programs such as reading corners, child-friendly information centers, reading and caring, talking book friends, and creative stages, are able to increase students' interest in learning. This is indicated by changes in student behavior who are more active in seeking information, reading outside of schoolwork, enjoying visiting the library because the learning environment is conducive, encouraging reading habits, and showing enthusiasm in independent learning activities in the library. In this study, it is suggested that the role of libraries in improving student learning should be further enhanced, so that school libraries can become an unforgettable learning medium for students.
