bibo:abstract "The rapid development of digital technology has significantly\r\ntransformed education and requires high school students to possess\r\nessential competencies, including digital literacy and 21st-century\r\nskills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and\r\ncollaboration. However, the mastery of these competencies remains\r\nuneven among students. This study aims to examine the level of\r\nessential competencies among high school students in the digital era\r\nand formulate appropriate strategies for their development.\r\nThe study employed a mixed methods approach, combining\r\nquantitative and qualitative research methods. Quantitative data\r\nwere collected through questionnaires distributed to students, while\r\nqualitative data were obtained through interviews, observations,\r\nand document analysis to support and enrich the findings. The data\r\nwere analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and\r\nqualitative analysis through data reduction, data display, and\r\nconclusion drawing.\r\nThe findings indicate that students' essential competencies are\r\ngenerally at a moderate level, with digital literacy and 21st-century\r\nskills still requiring improvement. The level of competency is\r\ninfluenced by several factors, including the quality of instruction,\r\nteacher support, access to technology, learning environment, and\r\nstudents' motivation. Strategies to improve these competencies\r\ninclude integrating digital technology into learning, implementing\r\nproject-based learning, promoting collaborative learning, and\r\nstrengthening digital literacy and 21st-century skills critical\r\nthinking, creativity, collaboration, dan communication (4C). The\r\nfindings are expected to serve as a reference for schools, teachers,\r\nand policymakers in improving the quality of education in the digital\r\nera."^^xsd:string;
