There is no explicit Qur’anic verse or hadith that allows or forbids this combination, while the community needs a more economically feasible form of worship. The study aims to describe the opinions of both scholars, explain the legal reasoning they use, and analyze them through the perspective of maqāṣidī ijtihad by Imam al-Syāṭibī. This is a comparative descriptive-analytical library research with a normative approach. The primary sources are Nihāyatul Muḥtāj ilā Syarḥ al-Minhāj (Imam Ar-Ramlī) and Tuhfatul Muḥtāj bi Syarḥ al-Minhāj (Imam Ibnu Ḥajar al-Haitamī), while secondary sources include fiqh books, hadiths, books, journals, and relevant articles. The results show that Imam Ar-Ramlī permits combining the intentions of ‘aqīqah and qurbān in one animal because both are considered similar acts, whereas Imam Ibnu Ḥajar al-Haitamī rejects it due to their different objectives. This difference stems from their ijtihad methods: Ar-Ramlī emphasizes qiyās (analogy) and public benefit, while Ibnu Ḥajar emphasizes caution in preserving the specific objectives of each worship. According to Imam al-Syāṭibī’s maqāṣidī ijtihad, Ar- Ramlī’s opinion aligns with facilitating (ḥājiyyāt), while Ibnu Ḥajar emphasizes maintaining the primary purpose (ḍarūriyyāt). In conclusion, Ibnu Ḥajar’s view is considered more in line with maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah in preserving the essential objectives of ‘aqīqah and qurbān. %K Aqiqah, Qurban, Imam Ramli, Imam Ibn Hajar Al-Haitami, Ijtihad Maqasidi %D 2026 %I UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA %L digilib77903
