"This study aims to analyze the judicial considerations in interpreting termination of employment on the grounds of efficiency and to examine the form of legal protection for workers in Decision Number 8/Pdt.Sus-PHI/2025/PN.Yyk jo Number 1120 K/Pdt.Sus-PHI/2025. The research questions are: first, how did the judges interpret the grounds of termination due to efficiency in relation to the fulfillment of workers’ severance rights; and second, how is legal protection provided to workers regarding compensation payments in the decision.\r\nThis research is a normative legal study with a descriptive-analytical character. The approaches employed are the statute approach and the case approach. The data were collected through library research using primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, then analyzed qualitatively and presented descriptively.\r\nThe findings show that the panel of judges carefully interpreted efficiency as a ground for termination by affirming that a transfer of company ownership does not terminate the worker’s length of service. Therefore, the worker’s service period must be calculated cumulatively from the beginning of employment, which obliges the employer to pay severance pay, service appreciation pay, and the remaining compensation according to the actual period of service. In addition, legal protection for workers in this case tends to be repressive, because the restoration of rights is carried out through court proceedings after the dispute has arisen. The decision also reflects distributive and commutative justice, as the burden arising from termination is proportionally allocated to the employer, while the worker receives restoration of violated rights."^^ .
