This necessitates preventive measures by relevant authorities specifically the Cijulang Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), an institution responsible for providing public services and community guidance. However, data indicates that the rate of child marriage recorded by the Cijulang KUA in 2024 was relatively lower than in other areas of Pangandaran Regency. This situation warrants examination to identify the factors contributing to the Cijulang KUA's success in curbing child marriage rates in 2024 and to analyze these factors through the perspective of the sociology of Islamic law. This study employs a descriptive-analytical filed research method. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively using an inductive method comprising data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The study utilizes the sociology of Islamic law approach specifically the theory of M. Atho Mudzhar as its analytical framework. Research findings indicate that the success of KUA Cijulang in curbing child marriage rates in 2024 was driven by several factors: public outreach regarding marriage laws, the School-Age Youth Guidance (BRUS) program, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Viewed through Atho Mudzhar’s sociology of Islamic law perspective, public outreach on marriage laws reflects the community's level of religious law observance, fostered by the process of internalizing Islamic legal values. Meanwhile, the BRUS program and cross-sectoral collaboration demonstrate the influence of Islamic law on society and the resulting social change, achieved through education, guidance, and efforts to prevent the negative impacts of child marriage. Thus, the low rate of child marriage in the KUA Cijulang area is attributed not merely to the existence of legal regulations, but also to the internalization of Islamic legal values through education, guidance, and the involvement of various social institutions. %Z Dr. Malik Ibrahim, M.Ag.
