The main focus of the research is to explore the factors driving the use of the TikTok Shop PayLater service among DIY students who don't have a regular income yet, as well as the social and religious implications that arise from their digital consumption patterns. The research employed a field research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 student informants and supported by questionnaires distributed to 50 student respondents from various universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data analysis was conducted using the sociology of Islamic law framework to examine the interaction between religious values and the realities of digital consumption practices. The method used is field research with an Islamic law sociology approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 10 student informants and supported by questionnaires from 50 student respondents, with the sampling limited to students who use TikTok Shop PayLater and who do not yet have a steady income across various universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data analysis uses an Islamic law sociology approach to look at the interaction between religious values and the reality of digital consumption practices.Keywords: TikTok Shop PayLater , Students, Sociology of Islamic Law, Consumption Behavior. The research shows that the reason students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta tend to be more consumptive when using TikTok Shop PayLater is due to easy access, the availability of various payment terms, peer and environmental influence, the lure of discounts, as well as social pressure (FOMO) and a hedonistic lifestyle. From the perspective of Islamic legal sociology, this practice indicates a shift in consumption patterns from actual needs (hajat) to symbolic and emotional consumption for social recognition.
