      "abstract": "This research is based on the phenomenon of first year migrant students\r\nfrom outside Java having to face various homesickness challenges in the\r\nprocess of self-adjustment due to being far from their home environment. This\r\nresearch aims to find out the relationship between peer social support and\r\nhomesickness of first-year foreign students from outside Java at UIN Sunan\r\nKalijaga Yogyakarta. The formulation of this research problem is whether there\r\nis a relationship between peer social support and homesickness of first-year\r\nforeign students from outside Java at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This\r\nresearch uses a quantitative approach with correlational design. The research\r\npopulation consists of 1.376 first-year foreign students from outside Java, with\r\na sample of 93 respondents determined using probability sampling technique\r\nthrough random sampling. Data collection was carried out using the Likert\r\nscale of peer social support based on Sarafino and Smith's theory and a\r\nhomesickness scale based on Stroebe's theory. Data analysis using pearson\r\nproduct moment correlation test. The research results show that there is a\r\nsignificant negative relationship between peer social support and\r\nhomesickness with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.050) and a correlation\r\ncoefficient of -0.342. It means that the higher the social support of peers\r\nreceived, the lower the level of homesickness experienced. This finding\r\nconfirms the importance of the role of peer social support in helping students\r\nto face homesickness.",
