In these conditions, peer support is suspected to play an important role in shaping student coping strategies to face perceived demands. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer support and coping strategies in dealing with parental demands in UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sampling technique used is a sampling quota with the sample distribution of each faculty using a proportional formula, involving 376 students in the 2019-2022 year at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The measurement tool in this study uses an adaptation of the peer support scale from Raju Sianipar based on Sarafino's theory with 40 aitems and the coping strategy is measured using the adaptation of the COPE Brief scale in Indonesian developed by Charles S. Carver which consists of 31 aitems. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between peer support and coping strategies in dealing with parental demands as evidenced by the correlation coefficient value of 0.674 and the sig value of 0.001 < 0.05.
