The study was motivated by the increasing number of older adults who are vulnerable to loneliness, social isolation, and declining participation in community life. These conditions are influenced by various factors, such as children moving away, the loss of a spouse, a dwindling number of peers, and physical limitations that make it difficult for the elderly to participate in community activities. As a result, many elderly people spend more time alone at home without sufficient social interaction, which can affect both their physical and psychological well-being. This study aims to determine the role of the Elderly-Friendly Village Program in increasing the social participation of older adults, as well as the benefits experienced by older adults after participating in various program activities. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research method, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the Elderly-Friendly Village Program plays a significant role in enhancing the social participation of the elderly. In this study, social participation is defined as an increase in the elderly’s involvement in various activities, such as Quranic education (TPA and religious study groups), senior health clinics (posyandu), fitness exercises, nutritional garden management, and the production of traditional lempeng ndeso. In addition to increasing the social participation of older adults, this program also provides benefits for their physical and mental health.
