Kauman Village, Yogyakarta, has a strong historical and Islamic identity. Therefore, tourism employees must demonstrate politeness, responsibility, communication skills, and an understanding of the village?s historical and religious values. This study aims to examine the recruitment and selection processes for religious tourism employees in Kauman Village, Yogyakarta. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving managers, supervisors, leaders, and employees of Kauman Tourism Village. The results show that recruitment is conducted through a simple, flexible, and community-based process. The stages include identifying organizational needs, determining candidate criteria, using community networks, delivering recruitment invitations, and gathering interested candidates. Recruitment mainly relies on direct communication and WhatsApp. The main criteria include willingness to learn, concern for the village, politeness, responsibility, communication skills, and readiness to support tourism activities. The selection process includes initial screening, suitability assessment, evaluation of social reputation, observation of participation, internal discussion, placement, and orientation. New employees are gradually assigned as sweepers or co-guides. They receive guidance on duties, service ethics, Kauman?s history, and religious values.
