"The increasing elderly population in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta,\r\nhas become an area with the highest percentage of elderly people, so the\r\npsychological well-being of the elderly is an important issue in facing\r\npsychosocial challenges, such as loneliness, loss of loved ones, declining physical\r\ncondition and fear of death. The strong religious culture in Yogyakarta makes\r\nreligion a psychological resource for the elderly, one of which is through religious\r\nprograms at Aisyiyah Yogyakarta Elderly Day Care. However, religious coping is\r\npersonal and subjective, so religious activities are not necessarily interpreted and\r\nused in the same way by every elderly. Therefore, this study aims to answer how\r\nthe form of religious coping used by the elderly in facing psychosocial challenges\r\nand how the role of religious coping in maintaining the psychological welfare of\r\nthe elderly in Day Care Elderly Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. The study used a\r\ndescriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, which involved twelve\r\nsubjects, namely four elderly as the main subjects selected through purposive\r\nsampling techniques, four elderly families and four day care managers, data\r\ncollected through observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies.\r\nThe results of the study show that positive religious coping is the dominant form\r\nused, namely the most prominent form of benevolent religious reappraisal,\r\ncollaborative religious coping, seeking spiritual support and seeking support from\r\nclergy or members. Meanwhile, negative religious coping only appears\r\ntemporarily in some subjects without becoming a dominant strategy. Religious\r\ncoping plays an important role in bringing out the six dimensions of Ryff's\r\npsychological well-being in all subjects, namely self-acceptance as the most\r\nprominent, positive relationships with others, independence, mastery of the\r\nenvironment, life goals and personal growth."^^ .
