N2  - This study aims to analyze the factors influencing people's intention to
perform zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS) through Zakat Management Organizations
(OPZ). The study employs a quantitative approach, with the Black Box theory
serving as the theoretical foundation. The independent variables consist of
promotion, transparency, culture, social factors, personal factors, and
psychological factors, while the dependent variable is the intention to perform ZIS
through OPZ. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 405
Muslim respondents in the former Kedu Residency area. Data analysis was
conducted using Structural Equation Modeling?Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS)
with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.
The results indicate that promotion, transparency, social factors, personal
factors, and psychological factors have a positive and significant effect on the
intention to perform ZIS through OPZ. Psychological factors have the strongest
influence on people's intention. Meanwhile, culture has a significant negative effect
on the intention to perform ZIS through OPZ. These findings indicate that people's
intention to perform ZIS through OPZ is influenced by a combination of external
stimuli and individual internal characteristics.
The findings imply that OPZs need to strengthen promotional strategies,
transparency in ZIS management, social-based approaches, and consideration of
people's personal and psychological characteristics to increase ZIS collection
through formal zakat management institutions.
