      "abstract": "Body dissatisfaction is a widespread phenomenon, particularly among female\r\nadolescents. Research addressing body dissatisfaction continues to be conducted and\r\ndeveloped. Across many aspects, the use of visual-based social media such as Instagram,\r\nreinforced by social comparison, represents some of the factors showing a major influence. The\r\nuse of Instagram provides unrealistic depictions of body shape, which subsequently prompts\r\nfemale adolescents, as viewers, to engage in social comparison between their own bodies and\r\nthe images they see on Instagram. This study was conducted to determine how social\r\ncomparison mediates the relationship between the intensity of Instagram use and body\r\ndissatisfaction in female adolescents. A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression\r\nanalysis was employed, with data collected online through questionnaires from female\r\nadolescent respondents across Indonesia. The instruments used were the intensity of Instagram\r\nuse scale, alongside adapted versions of the body dissatisfaction scale and the social\r\ncomparison scale. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression testing. The\r\nresults of the study indicate that social comparison partially mediates the relationship between\r\nthe intensity of Instagram use and body dissatisfaction.",
