A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression was employed. The participants consisted of 100 Generation Z employees, aged 19–29, working in the Special Region of Yogyakarta with a minimum tenure of six months. Non-probability sampling—specifically incidental or convenience sampling—was used. Data were collected using scales measuring work engagement, job demands, and burnout, and were analyzed using JAMOVI 2.6.44.0. The results indicate that job demands and burnout simultaneously have a significant effect on work engagement, with an F-value of 5.51 and a significance level of 0.005 (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.102 indicates that job demands and burnout collectively contribute 10.2% to work engagement. Partially, job demands did not have a significant effect on work engagement (regression coefficient = 0.267; p = 0.207; p > 0.05). Conversely, burnout had a significant negative effect on work engagement (regression coefficient = -0.355; p = 0.001; p < 0.05). Thus, while job demands were not proven to have a partial effect on work engagement, burnout was proven to have a significant negative effect. Collectively, job demands and burnout significantly influence the work engagement of Generation Z employees in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. date: 2026-08-19 date_type: published pages: 128 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ILMU SOSIAL DAN HUMANIORA thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Lubna Adilla Hikmah, NIM.: 21107010116 (2026) PENGARUH TUNTUTAN PEKERJAAN DAN BURNOUT TERHADAP KETERIKATAN KERJA KARYAWAN GENERASI Z DI DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA.
