abstract: This study examines the representation of fate acceptance in the lyrics of Jalaran
sadrah, an album by Barasuara. The research aims to reveal how the concept of
accepting fate is represented through lyrical signs and meanings. This study
employs a qualitative descriptive approach using Roland Barthes' semiotic
analysis, which consists of denotation, connotation, and myth. The research data
consist of song lyrics from the Jalaran sadrah album, supported by interviews with
Denzel from Buzzine.id as a triangulation source and relevant literature. The
findings indicate that the representation of fate acceptance in the album is not
portrayed as passive surrender, but rather as an active process of acknowledging
reality, accepting life's uncertainties, and continuing to move forward with
resilience and self-awareness. Through symbolic language, metaphors, and
cultural values embedded in the lyrics, Barasuara constructs the meaning of fate
acceptance as a form of emotional maturity and personal growth. These findings
demonstrate that music lyrics function not only as artistic expression but also as a
medium for conveying philosophical and social meanings related to human life.
