N2  - This research is motivated by the importance of preserving
traditional arts through the process of regeneration among the
younger generation from an early age. Jaran Kepang Dance, as
one of the traditional arts, needs to be introduced and passed on
to children so that its existence can be maintained and the
cultural values contained within it can continue to be preserved.
Turonggo Krido Taruno Dance Studio in Kandangan,
Temanggung, is one of the places where the regeneration of Jaran
Kepang Dance takes place through dance learning for early
childhood. This research aims to describe the regeneration
process of Jaran Kepang Dance through learning for early
childhood and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in
the regeneration and preservation of Jaran Kepang Dance.
The results of the research show that the regeneration process of
Jaran Kepang Dance is carried out gradually and continuously.
The process begins with introducing Jaran Kepang Dance to
children from an early age, followed by learning, training,
exploration, expression, appreciation, mastery of dance
movements, and children's involvement in performances. Regular
training provides children with opportunities to gain knowledge
and skills in Jaran Kepang Dance directly. Preservation is
carried out not only through the transmission of dance
movements but also through the introduction of cultural values,
including togetherness, discipline, responsibility, and courage.
