%T PERAN KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA MADRASAH DALAM MEMBANGUN IKLIM SEKOLAH DAN PRESTASI NON AKADEMIK SISWA DI MAN 1 YOGYAKARTA
%X The study is grounded in the importance of principal leadership in creating a school
atmosphere that is conducive, safe, and supportive of students' holistic
development, particularly in the non-academic domain. This research employed a
qualitative approach with a case study design. This study aims to describe the role
of the madrasah principal in fostering school climate and to analyze its contribution
to students' non-academic achievement.
The research subjects consisted of the madrasah principal, the vice principal for
student affairs, the vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and students. Data were
collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews. Source
triangulation was used to test the validity of the data obtained.
The research results indicate that the madrasah principal plays an important role
in building the school climate through an interpersonal role in the form of
exemplary conduct and presence, an informational role in the form of monitoring
and information dissemination, and a decisional role in the form of decision-making
through deliberative forums. This conducive school climate contributes positively
to the development of students' non-academic achievements, both in sports and arts,
as well as various competitions at the local, regional, national, and international
levels.
