      "abstract": "Sensory development is important for children aged 4-6 years in receiving and\r\nresponding to environmental stimuli. Open learning through nature exploration\r\nprovides direct sensory experiences. This study aims to describe children’s sensory\r\ndevelopment through open learning at Sekolah Alam Beniso Yogyakarta, including the\r\nrole of teachers and supporting and inhibiting factors.\r\nThis study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research. The subjects\r\nconsisted of the principal, teachers, and children aged 4-6 years involved in open\r\nlearning activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and\r\ndocumentation. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model,\r\nconsisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity\r\nwas established through source and technique triangulation. The study focused on two\r\nsensory aspects: visual and auditory.\r\nThe results showed that open learning supported children’s visual and auditory\r\nsensory development through direct experiences with the natural environment.\r\nTeachers acted as facilitators, while children actively participated in exploration\r\nactivities. Supporting factors included the natural environment, teacher creativity, and\r\nsupport from the school and parents, while inhibiting factors included weather\r\nconditions and differences in children’s characteristics.",
