This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4D development model, which includes the stages of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research was carried out up to the Develop stage. The products developed consist of a light diffraction grating practical tool using a Compact Disc (CD) as a simple diffraction grating and a practical module based on science process skills. The research instruments include instrument validation sheets, product quality assessment sheets, pre-test and post-test sheets, and a self-assessment questionnaire for science process skills. The product quality assessment was conducted by two material experts and two media experts, while the limited trial was carried out on 41 students of the Physics Education Study Program, class of 2024. The data were analyzed quantitatively and descriptively using validation scores, percentages, and the N-Gain test. The results showed that the research instrument achieved a validity score of 0.87, falling into the valid category. The quality of the practical tool and the module based on the material experts' evaluation obtained an average score of 3.75 (excellent category), while the media experts' evaluation obtained an average score of 3.58 (excellent category). The tool testing results showed an average wavelength of 615.7 ± 32.2 nm in the independent practical session with an accuracy of 94.1% and precision of 94.7%, and 533.6 ± 109.2 nm in the laboratory practical session with an accuracy of 83.3% and precision of 77.6%. The use of the developed practical tool and module successfully improved the students' science process skills, as indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.92 (high category) and a self-assessment result of 77% (high category).
