%T PEMETAAN PENELITIAN TENTANG MEDIA SOSIAL DAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DALAM KONTEKS PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM
%X Research on social media and learning motivation is constantly evolving,
but mapping publication trends, conceptual structures, and scientific collaborations
remains limited. So far, the research has mostly been conducted using an empirical
approach to test the influence, relationship, or effectiveness of social media on
learning motivation. This condition results in a lack of a comprehensive scientific
mapping of publications development, main themes, relationships between
concepts, themes evolution, and the intellectual foundations that make up the field
of study.
This study aims to identify the dominant themes, analyze the development
of research, and and analyze scientific collaboration, publications related to social
media and learning motivation in the context of Islamic Religious Education. This
study uses a quantitative approach with bibliometric analysis. The data source was
obtained from the Scopus database with no age restrictions, using the keywords
“social media” AND “learning motivation” OR “motivation to learn” OR “student
motivation.” A total of 131 English-language articles were analyzed using the
biblioshiny tool from the Bibliometrix package in RStudio to map collaboration
networks, knowledge structures, thematic evolutions, and publication trends.
The results show that social media is the most dominant theme in
publications that connects motivation, higher education, educational innovation,
and learning. The number of publications has increased, especially after the
COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution of research publications: Developed
countries still dominate the distribution of research publications, while research
focusing on the context of Islamic Religious Education has not been found.
Collaboration between authors and institutions is still limited and has not created a
strong network of international cooperation. The findings of this study present a
conceptual structure in the form of mapping the organizational structure, scientific
collaboration, and analyzing the direction of research development in accordance
with Islamic religious education.
