Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Ngabar Ponorogo upholds the Panca Jiwa, consisting of sincerity, simplicity, self-reliance, Islamic brotherhood, and freedom, as fundamental values that permeate the entire educational system and daily life of the pesantren. This study aims to analyze the concept of character education based on the Panca Jiwa, its implementation in the pesantren environment, and the significance of the Panca Jiwa as a value foundation for character education at Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Ngabar Ponorogo. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling, consisting of the pesantren leaders, members of the Santri Guidance Council (Majelis Pembimbing Santri), and students. The student informants consisted of 10 students, comprising five male and five female students. Data validity was established through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis employed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that, first, the concept of character education at Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Ngabar is based on the Panca Jiwa and reinforced by the educational goals and philosophy of the pesantren. Second, the implementation of character education based on the Panca Jiwa is carried out comprehensively through role modeling, the creation of a positive environment, habituation, assignment, guidance, and direction across various learning activities and daily life in the pesantren. Third, the Panca Jiwa is significant as a value foundation that integrates character education into the entire educational system and daily life of the pesantren. The five values serve as guidelines for developing students’ attitudes, behaviors, interpersonal relationships, sense of responsibility, and daily conduct.
