description: Low awareness of education in the younger generation is a complex  problem related to human resource development, especially in rural communities  based on oil palm plantations. These problems are not only influenced by individual  and family factors, but also related to how local leadership builds social support,  communication, and coordination between education actors. This study aims to: (1)  analyze the leadership challenges of the Village Head in dealing with low  educational awareness in the younger generation in Salupangkang Village; and (2)  analyze the impact of the Village Head's leadership in dealing with low education  awareness in the younger generation in Salupangkang Village.  This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Data  collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and  documentation. The research informants consist of Village Heads, village officials,  community leaders, school principals, teachers, and guardians of students who have  experience related to the issue of educational sustainability of the younger  generation. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive model Miles,  Huberman, and Saldaña through the stages of data condensation, data presentation,  and conclusion drawing and verification. The validity of the data was tested through  source triangulation and triangulation techniques.  The results of the study show that the leadership challenges of the Village  Head in dealing with the low educational awareness of the young generation in  Salupangkang Village are multidimensional. These challenges include: (1) the  orientation of village development which is still more dominant in the physical  aspect than human development; (2) the limitations of educational support  instruments at the village level and the lack of optimal coordination mechanisms  between the village government and educational institutions; (3) the social culture  of the community that has not fully placed education as a long-term need; and (4)  the strong orientation of direct economic benefits from the oil palm plantation  sector that influences family decisions on the sustainability of children's education.  The impact of these conditions can be seen in the weak follow-up of children at risk  of dropping out of school, the limited strengthening of education messages in the  community, the emergence of social acceptance of the cessation of education, and  the lack of strong institutional relations between schools and village governments.  The findings of this study show that the leadership of the Village Head has a  strategic position in building a community education ecosystem through the  functions of motivation, communication, facilitation, and coordination, even  though it is not under the direct authority of the implementation of formal  education. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of the  study of Islamic Education Management by expanding the perspective of educational leadership in the context of village government as one of the actors in  the community education ecosystem. Practically, this research is a reflection for the  Salupangkang Village Government and related stakeholders to strengthen education  communication, build sustainable coordination mechanisms, and make education  part of the human development agenda at the village level.
