"Low awareness of education in the younger generation is a complex\r\nproblem related to human resource development, especially in rural communities\r\nbased on oil palm plantations. These problems are not only influenced by individual\r\nand family factors, but also related to how local leadership builds social support,\r\ncommunication, and coordination between education actors. This study aims to: (1)\r\nanalyze the leadership challenges of the Village Head in dealing with low\r\neducational awareness in the younger generation in Salupangkang Village; and (2)\r\nanalyze the impact of the Village Head's leadership in dealing with low education\r\nawareness in the younger generation in Salupangkang Village.\r\nThis study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research. Data\r\ncollection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and\r\ndocumentation. The research informants consist of Village Heads, village officials,\r\ncommunity leaders, school principals, teachers, and guardians of students who have\r\nexperience related to the issue of educational sustainability of the younger\r\ngeneration. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive model Miles,\r\nHuberman, and Saldaña through the stages of data condensation, data presentation,\r\nand conclusion drawing and verification. The validity of the data was tested through\r\nsource triangulation and triangulation techniques.\r\nThe results of the study show that the leadership challenges of the Village\r\nHead in dealing with the low educational awareness of the young generation in\r\nSalupangkang Village are multidimensional. These challenges include: (1) the\r\norientation of village development which is still more dominant in the physical\r\naspect than human development; (2) the limitations of educational support\r\ninstruments at the village level and the lack of optimal coordination mechanisms\r\nbetween the village government and educational institutions; (3) the social culture\r\nof the community that has not fully placed education as a long-term need; and (4)\r\nthe strong orientation of direct economic benefits from the oil palm plantation\r\nsector that influences family decisions on the sustainability of children's education.\r\nThe impact of these conditions can be seen in the weak follow-up of children at risk\r\nof dropping out of school, the limited strengthening of education messages in the\r\ncommunity, the emergence of social acceptance of the cessation of education, and\r\nthe lack of strong institutional relations between schools and village governments.\r\nThe findings of this study show that the leadership of the Village Head has a\r\nstrategic position in building a community education ecosystem through the\r\nfunctions of motivation, communication, facilitation, and coordination, even\r\nthough it is not under the direct authority of the implementation of formal\r\neducation. This research makes a theoretical contribution to the development of the\r\nstudy of Islamic Education Management by expanding the perspective of educational leadership in the context of village government as one of the actors in\r\nthe community education ecosystem.
