In many contexts, women continue to experience unequal power relations that affect their ability to understand their rights, express experiences of violence, and make decisions regarding their lives. In response to these conditions, the Women and Children Protection and Advocacy Institute of Fatayat NU Sleman (LKP3A Fatayat NU Sleman) functions not only as a case-handling institution but also as an advocacy platform that promotes gender mainstreaming through contextual, dialogical, and faith-based communication approaches. This study aims to analyze advocacy practices, advocacy processes, and the role of communication in supporting gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment at LKP3A Fatayat NU Sleman. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation and were analyzed interpretively by relating the findings to communication theory, advocacy theory, and gender perspectives. The findings indicate that the advocacy practices implemented by LKP3A Fatayat NU Sleman are carried out through various interconnected forms of communication. Interpersonal communication is evident in the victim assistance process, which emphasizes empathy, emotional security, and psychological recovery. Group communication is conducted through religious gatherings, training programs, leadership development activities, and community outreach programs that serve as platforms for raising awareness and promoting gender mainstreaming. Organizational communication and digital media are utilized through internal coordination mechanisms, cadre networks, and the use of Instagram and other social media platforms to educate the public about women’s protection and gender equality. Advocacy efforts are further strengthened through inter-institutional communication involving government agencies, healthcare providers, psychologists, legal institutions, and religious organizations in collaborative case management. The advocacy process is conducted in several stages, beginning with case intake and needs assessment, followed by litigation and non-litigation assistance, and continuing through recovery efforts that provide social support and safe spaces for victims.
