Gembira Loka Zoo it`s one of the famous tourism places in Yogyakarta. There are a lot of floras and faunas which can be found and see. There are many attractive games and performances which can be enjoy to family holiday. In 2010 Gembira Loka Zoo?s having crisis. Becouse of the Eruption of Gunung Merapi, the number of the visitors of Gembira Loka Zoo was decreasing. It?s happened after September 2010. From 136.206 visitors in September it?s decreasing until 19.967 visitors in Nopember. But it?s increase in Desember 2010 and continue to rise until 2011. This research is research about how public relations in Gembira Loka Zoo to handle the crisis. The way, the strategy of public relations to increase the number of the visitors to handle the crisis. The method of how to analyze this research is using stages that proposed by Frank Jefkin. After that this reasearch analyze the image of the coorporate. Whether the image of the coorporate has returned or not. This reseach in using qualitative research, so interview is one of the main way to collect information. Although there are many way, publicity is the major step taken by public relations of Gembira Loka Zoo to handle the crisis. This proved to be effective because the number of visitors continues to increase from year to year and the image of the cooporate is back.
