air quality through particulate deposition and the uptake of gaseous pollutants.
However, the relationship between riparian vegetation and air pollutant
concentrations remains insufficiently understood. This study aimed to analyze the
composition and structure of riparian vegetation, determine the concentrations of
PM2.5, PM10, CO, and CO2, and examine the relationships among riparian
vegetation, air pollutants, and environmental parameters. Vegetation data were
collected using purposive sampling at three study sites to calculate the Importance
Value Index (IVI) and the Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H’). Air pollutant
concentrations were measured using a 6-in-1 air quality detector (Model 2CO10),
while the relationships among riparian vegetation, air pollutants, and environmental
parameters were analyzed using Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). The
results showed that the composition and structure of riparian vegetation varied
among study sites, with herbaceous vegetation being the dominant growth form.
Site 2 had the highest number of species, whereas the highest Shannon–Wiener
diversity index was recorded at Site 1. The highest concentrations of PM2.5 and
PM10, 26.90 and 35.03 μg/m³, respectively, were recorded at Site 2. The highest CO
concentration, 0.61 ppm, was recorded at Site 3, while the highest CO₂
concentration, 494.40 ppm, was recorded at Site 1. CCA indicated that riparian
vegetation composition was more closely associated with CO, CO₂, soil moisture,
soil pH, and air temperature than with PM2.5 and PM10. Riparian vegetation
contributes to air quality regulation through particulate deposition, gaseous
pollutant uptake, and microclimate regulation.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">570 Biologi, Ilmu Hayat</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-08-11</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_78716"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_78716_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
