and unused dependencies, increasing maintenance complexity and the risk of
errors. This study aims to develop a Command Line Interface (CLI)-based tool for
semi-automatically detecting and eliminating unused code and dependencies. The
system applies Abstract Syntax Tree (AST)-based static analysis to map code
declarations and references, along with a dependency graph to trace relationships
between files. The elimination process includes candidate selection, user
confirmation, backup, and recovery mechanisms. The system was developed
iteratively using the Extreme Programming method. Evaluation was conducted on
four open-source repositories using naturally occurring anomalies and controlled
injected specimens, with the results compared against ground truth established
through manual inspection. From 106 test cases, the system produced 100 True
Positives, 1 False Positive, and 5 False Negatives, achieving a precision of 99.01%,
recall of 95.24%, and F1-score of 97.09%. All post-remediation validation
procedures were completed without failures or crashes. These results demonstrate
that the AST-based approach performs well, although user review remains
necessary for dynamic patterns and behavior that depend on runtime context.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">005.12 Software System Analysis and Design/Sistem Analisa dan Desain Perangkat Lunak</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-08-19</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
