However, this study offers a new perspective through the concept of zakatnomics, which views mustahik as having the potential to become muzaki and develop resilience. One implementation of the zakatnomics concept is the productive economic empowerment program at LAZISNU DIY. Through this program, LAZISNU DIY provides assistance tailored to the needs of mustahik. Based on this phenomenon, this study aims to analyze the concept of zakatnomics and explore the lived experiences of mustahik in navigating various life challenges. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand the meaning of mustahik’s lived experiences before, during, and after participating in the program. The informants consisted of one program manager, one mentor, and five mustahik selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation and analyzed using the three main components of Miles and Huberman over a period of approximately six months. The findings indicate that, first, based on Ann Masten’s resilience theory, zakatnomics at LAZISNU DIY transforms zakat into an instrument of empowerment through the provision of resources, capacity building, and the strengthening of mustahik’s adaptive capacities. Second, its implementation is realized through the four pillars of zakatnomics: faith, productivity revolution, fair economy, and zakat implementation. Third, the lived experiences of mustahik demonstrate the development of resilience through the strengthening of economic, social, and spiritual aspects, enabling them to adapt and develop amid the limitations they encounter. This process is further analyzed using Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The study concludes that resilience is one of the outcomes of the zakatnomics empowerment process, which is oriented toward the sustainability and self-reliance of mustahik. %Z Prof. Dr. Aziz Muslim, M.Pd.
