This issue stems from knowledge, psychological, and socio-cultural factors such as patriarchal culture as well as work demands that often position childcare as an absolute duty of the wife, while restricting the father’s role to solely that of a breadwinner. This condition adversely affects family harmony and creates imbalances in domestic relations. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of involvement among participants of the "Sekolah Ayah" program organized by the Family Learning Center (PUSPAGA) of Bandung City in child-rearing, as well as to examine the implications of these dynamics for establishing a sakinah (peaceful) family ecosystem through the lens of family sociology. This research employs a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach using field research methodology. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with PUSPAGA Bandung City facilitators and five Sekolah Ayah participants, direct observation of program activities, and program documentation. The theoretical framework integrates Michael Lamb’s Father Involvement theory which encompasses accessibility, direct interaction, and responsibility dimensions with normative concepts of child-rearing in Islamic family law. The research results reveal two main findings. First, there is a sociological shift in gender roles among participants in the Fathers’ School, namely from a rigid, patriarchal parenting style toward an active, egalitarian one, marked by growing awareness and the ability to engage in dialogic communication with their children and wives. Second, changes in fathers’ involvement across Lamb’s three dimensions and their implications for creating a harmonious family: (1) Accessibility, realized through the allocation of dedicated time for children, which contributes to the fulfillment of the right to ḥaḍanah and the attainment of a sense of peace; (2) Interaction, realized through positive parenting and warm communication, which contributes to the implementation of the principle of mu’āsyarah bil ma’rūf; (3) Responsibility, manifested through the sharing of child-rearing duties, which implies a redefinition of responsibility-based leadership and reflects the tangible manifestation of the “sakinah” family model—namely, by serving as a role model for the surrounding community. date: 2026-08-14 date_type: published pages: 114 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS SYARIAH DAN HUKUM thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Farisa Nur Azizah, NIM.: 22103050016 (2026) ANALISIS KETERLIBATAN AYAH PADA PENGASUHAN ANAK DAN IMPLIKASINYA DALAM MEWUJUDKAN KELUARGA SAKINAH: STUDI TERHADAP PROGRAM SEKOLAH AYAH DI PUSPAGA KOTA BANDUNG.
