N2  - This research is motivated by the importance of the Director?s leadership style in managing the Qur?anic Education Institution (TPA) as a non-formal educational institution. The Director has a strategic role in directing, guiding, coordinating, motivating, and maintaining the continuity of institutional activities. Studies on the leadership styles of TPA directors remain limited compared to studies of leadership in formal educational institutions. Therefore, this study aims to identify the leadership style of the Director of TPA Al-Muhajirin Pendowoharjo, Bantul, in 2026. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the Director, teachers, and administrators of TPA Al-Muhajirin Pendowoharjo. Data validity was established through source and method triangulation. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, consisting of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The leadership style was analyzed using M. Sobry Sutikno?s theory, which includes seven types: autocratic, laissez-faire, paternalistic, charismatic, militaristic, pseudo-democratic, and democratic. The results show that the Director of TPA Al-Muhajirin Pendowoharjo predominantly applies a democratic leadership style. This is demonstrated through the involvement of teachers in deliberations and opportunities to express opinions and suggestions. The charismatic style is reflected in exemplary behavior, the paternalistic style through attention and guidance, the autocratic style in certain situations, and the militaristic style through firmness and discipline. The laissezfaire style is reflected in giving teachers space to carry out their duties, while the pseudo-democratic style was not found. Thus, the democratic style is the dominant leadership style, while other styles are applied according to the situation.
