Therefore, this study investigates the influence of the intensity of interpersonal communication on the reduction of uncertainty and its extent among migrant students in IPRY Kom Inhil (Indragiri Hilir). The study employs an associative quantitative approach. The target population comprised 304 individuals, and the sample consisted of 75 respondents selected via simple random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that the intensity of interpersonal communication significantly influences the reduction of uncertainty. This is evidence by a significance level of 0.000 < 0.10 and a coefficient determination of 0.579, indicates that interpersonal communication intensity contributes 57.9% to the variance in uncertainty reduction, while the remaining 42.1% is explained by other factors not examined in this study. These findings suggest that higher interpersonal communication intensity contributes to greater uncertainty reduction by helping migrant students better understand their interlocutors, predict communication responses, feel more comfortable during interactions, and reduce awkwardness when communicating in a new environment date: 2026-07-24 date_type: published pages: 172 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: FAKULTAS ILMU SOSIAL DAN HUMANIORA thesis_type: skripsi thesis_name: other citation: Nurussyifa Ainayya NIM, NIM.: 22107030126 (2026) PENGARUH INTENSITAS KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL TERHADAP PENGURANGAN KETIDAKPASTIAN PADA MAHASISWA PERANTAU (Studi Kuantitatif Di Kalangan Anggota Ikatan Pelajar Riau – Yogyakarta Komisariat Indragiri Hilir).
