Under such circumstances, pre-prosperous families are required to develop the capacity to adapt to various pressures in order to maintain their family functions. One of the resources utilized in this adaptive process is spirituality. This study aims to: (1) describe the forms of spirituality practiced by pre-prosperous families in Ledok Gowok, Yogyakarta, and (2) analyze the mechanisms through which spirituality contributes to the development of family resilience. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving pre-prosperous families selected purposively based on the Indonesian National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) indicators of pre-prosperous families. Data were analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman, while the theoretical analysis was based on Froma Walsh's Family Resilience Theory. The findings reveal that the spirituality of pre-prosperous families is expressed through religious practices such as performing prayers (ṣalāh), supplication (du'a), dhikr (remembrance of God), participation in Islamic study groups (pengajian), tawakkul (trust in God), gratitude, and religious interpretations of life's hardships. These spiritual practices shape a belief system that enables families to interpret economic pressures more constructively, cultivate hope, and maintain emotional stability. Nevertheless, family resilience is not formed solely through spirituality. Rather, spirituality operates through its interaction with relational, economic, and social strategies within the family, including open communication, flexible role distribution, household financial management, and support from extended family members, neighbors, community groups, and non-governmental organizations. The interaction of these strategies fosters an adaptive process that enables families to maintain their functioning, manage life pressures, and respond to vulnerability more resiliently. Based on these findings, this study concludes that spirituality constitutes an important resource in strengthening family resilience, whose effectiveness is shaped by its interaction with structural conditions, family relationships, and social support within the context of pre-prosperous families. %Z Dr. Rr.
