"The Rajaban tradition is an ongoing practice carried out within the Hidayatul Mubtadi'ien Islamic Boarding School environment through various religious practices. This research was conducted because the hadiths regarding the virtues of Rajab are not merely understood as religious texts, but are received, interpreted, and manifested in the religious life of the students. Therefore, the formulation of the problem raised in this study was made to see the forms of tradition related to the hadiths on the virtues of Rajab, and to find out how the caretaker and the students attribute meanings toward these hadiths.\r\nThis research is a qualitative method with a living hadis approach. The focus of this research is on the students and the caretaker at the Hidayatul Mubtadi'ien Islamic Boarding School in Indramayu who carry out the Rajaban tradition. Data were collected by means of observation, interviews with the caretaker and students, and documentation. From the data obtained, the author uses Sam D. Gill's reception theory as a theoretical approach to reveal the meaning that occurs in it, specifically focusing on the informative and performative functions.\r\nFrom the research that has been conducted by the author at the Hidayatul Mubtadi'ien Islamic Boarding School, the results show that; First, in the informative function, the hadiths are understood as a source of knowledge regarding the nobility of Rajab, fadā'il al-a'mal (virtues of good deeds), and a momentum for spiritual preparation and improvement toward Ramadan, with this understanding being transmitted through the caretaker's socialization. Second, in the performative function, this understanding is manifested in various practices, such as the voluntary fasting of Rajab, the recitation of Maulid al-Barzanji after the Subuh prayer during the first ten days of Rajab, the recitation of Rajab prayers, increased worship, ifthār jamā'ī (communal breaking of the fast), and the Rajaban tradition culminating in the commemoration of Isra Mi'raj. Consequently, the Rajaban tradition acts as a medium for shaping the spirituality, discipline, solidarity, and religious identity of the students."^^ . "2026-08-13" . . . .
