abstract: Studies on deforestation in Indonesia have generally tended to be understood merely as a technical, economic, and governance issue, thereby paying insufficient attention to the ethical-spiritual dimension underlying the relationship between humans and nature. In fact, deforestation is not only related to economic-political interests, but also to the worldview that determines how nature is interpreted, treated, and exploited. In this context, an ecotheological approach becomes important to employ, as it positions the theological-philosophical dimension as a basis for understanding the root of the ecological crisis and the possibility of a more just paradigm of environmental management.
This research examines the construction of Badiuzzaman Said Nursi's ecotheological thought and its relevance to the phenomenon of deforestation in Indonesia. The research focuses on three main issues, namely: (1) how Said Nursi's ecotheological thought is constructed, particularly concerning the concepts of tawhid, nature as
