The film portrays the life of Malcolm X, a key figure in the American civil rights movement, and explores the transformation of racial conflict between Black and White people. Using Derrida's deconstruction methodology, the research critically examines selected scenes, focusing on dismantling binary oppositions such as "white superiority vs. black inferiority" and "dominance vs. submission." The analysis reveals that Islam, as depicted in the film, plays a pivotal role in challenging and deconstructing these binaries, fostering unity and equality. The study explores the Islamic values of peace and tolerance, which serve as the foundation for Malcolm X's turning point and the central focus of the analysis. Malcolm X's pilgrimage to Mecca and his shift from advocating racial segregation to promoting racial tolerance demonstrate this transformation. The film's portrayal of Islam as a catalyst for deconstructing racial binaries highlights its significance in Malcolm X's personal and ideological evolution, ultimately contributing to a more nuanced understanding of race relations in the United States.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">791.4375 Film Reviews/Tinjauan Film</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2024-12-03</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_79181"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_79181_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
