Hadith studies, which initially took place in face to face (on-site) scholarly gatherings, have recently shifted to digital media platforms, while some communities are even attempting to utilize both formats. One such example is the Rumaysho community. This study aims to explore the concepts and practices of hadith study both in person and online within the Rumaysho community and to analyze the discourse on hadith emerging from these two spaces, which will then be examined through the theory of “networking religion” proposed by Heidi A. Campbell. This study is a qualitative field study. Research data were obtained through observations of hadith studies at the Pogung Dalangan Mosque in Yogyakarta, documentation from the Rumaysho.com website, interviews with Muhammad Abduh Tuasikal, and other supporting data. The data analysis employed Heidi A. Campbell’s theory of networking religion, focusing specifically on three aspects: networked community, shifting authority, and convergent practice. The research findings indicate that hadith studies in the Rumasyho community both on-site and online are conducted through two interrelated spaces. On-site study sessions serve as a space for the transmission of hadith through the reading of religious texts, the presentation of material, and religious dialogue between the instructor and the congregation. Meanwhile, online study sessions transform the study material into articles organized around Islamic themes, thereby providing the public with broader access to learning about hadith. From the perspective of authority, whether we like it or not, a shift has occurred because the online space tends to be one-way or lacks dialogue. At the same time, both on-site and online settings involve processes and practices of understanding and implementing the meanings of religious principles derived from hadith, which tend to remain consistent due to a pattern of convergence meaning that these two spaces complement one another in the transmission, transformation, and practice of hadith. Through this analysis, the study of hadith both on-site and online forms a unified whole in the transmission and understanding of hadith. Religious practices in the digital age seek to connect the physical and digital spaces within a single ecosystem for learning hadith. %Z Prof. Dr. Zuhri S.Ag. M.Ag.
