      "abstract": "This study aims to analyze the construction patterns of Muhammad Ibn ‘Allān’s hadith commentary in Dalīl al-Fāliḥīn li Ṭuruqi Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn and to examine his commentary through Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis. The study focuses on hadiths concerning worship and gender relations as representations of the characteristics of Ibn ‘Allān’s approach to hadith commentary. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The primary source is Dalīl al-Fāliḥīn, while secondary sources include hadith commentaries, books, journal articles, and other relevant studies. The data are analyzed through textual, comparative, and analytical readings based on Fairclough’s three dimensions of discourse: text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice.\r\nThe findings indicate that Muhammad Ibn ‘Allān employs a systematic and consistent pattern of hadith commentary. His commentary begins with textual analysis using naḥwu, ṣarf, and balāghah, followed by fiqh al-ḥadīth analysis drawing on fiqh, uṣūl al-fiqh, and muṣṭalaḥ al-ḥadīth. This is followed by critical analysis involving comparison, verification, and evaluation of the views of previous scholars, and complemented by spiritual analysis grounded in Sufism and ethics (akhlāq). This pattern constitutes a distinctive feature of Ibn ‘Allān’s method of hadith commentary. From the perspective of Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis, his commentary is shaped by the discourse practices of the Islamic scholarly tradition. Ibn ‘Allān places hadith within an integrative framework that brings together Islamic law, particularly Shāfi‘ī jurisprudence, with Sufism and ethics. In the theme of worship, Ibn ‘Allān constructs the notion that intention (niyyah) is not merely a legal component of worship within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence, but also has a spiritual dimension that regulates consciousness and contributes to the purification of the inner self. In relation to gender, he emphasizes a principle of proportional balance between the husband’s responsibilities to care for, support, protect, and fulfill the rights of his wife and the wife’s obligations to fulfill her husband’s rights in maintaining the continuity of marriage. The discourse of power and ideology is constructed through Ibn ‘Allān’s extensive scholarly knowledge and in-depth analysis of hadith texts, while his reliance on the authority of earlier scholars serves to preserve and validate the intellectual tradition of the Shāfi‘ī school. His position as the Mufti of Mecca also contributed to the formation and legitimization of his scholarly authority within the discourse.",
