This is a field research study with a qualitative approach, involving ten Muslim single-parent women as the primary informants, using data collection techniques of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the informants' work ethic is formed through the internalization of Islamic values such as honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, patience, and sincerity, which enable them to balance their dual roles as breadwinners and caregivers. The study also reveals a transformation in the meaning of work, from a mere economic activity into a life calling, after they became single parents. In addition, the informants show a high degree of instrumental rationality in managing time and dividing roles, strong work discipline, and an ascetic attitude marked by self-control and rejection of a consumptive lifestyle. The study concludes that religious values play a fundamental role in shaping and sustaining the work ethic of Muslim single-parent women at Supermarket Pamella 6 Yogyakarta, and confirms the relevance of Max Weber's framework on the relationship between religion and work ethic within the context of Muslim communities, particularly among single-parent women in the retail sector. %Z Abd.
