This study analyzes the stylistic and rhetorical features of the speech delivered by E.H. Sugiono, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2025. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the study segmented the text into 94 sentences and examined it using the stylistic framework of Leech and Short (1981), which consists of lexical, grammatical, figurative, and cohesion-context features, together with Aristotle’s (1991) rhetorical theory of ethos, pathos, and logos. The findings reveal that lexical, grammatical, and cohesion features occur in all sentences, dominated by legal, formal, and evaluative terms, while figures of speech appears in 23.4 percent of the data, primarily to evoke empathy. Rhetorically, ethos and logos are highly dominant, with logos (96.8 percent) reinforcing legal arguments and ethos (100 percent) strengthening Indonesia’s credibility, while pathos (40.4 percent) is used selectively to highlight humanitarian concerns. Overall, the integration of stylistic and rhetorical elements produces a persuasive diplomatic message, where precise diction, coherent structure, and strategic appeals ensure the speech conveys legal reasoning effectively while also resonating emotionally with its audience. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how linguistic forms interact with rhetorical strategies in shaping persuasive power within diplomatic communication, and further demonstrates that stylistics plays a crucial role in reinforcing rhetoric and persuasion.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">425 Grammar of Standard English/Tata Bahasa Inggris</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2025-08-14</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_79300"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_79300_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
