      "abstract": "This research aims to examine the role of the Gelanggang Buku literacy community in developing the critical thinking skills of students at Nahdlatul Ulama University Yogyakarta (UNUY). In the digital era marked by a massive flow of information, critical thinking skills have become essential for students to sift through and analyze information objectively and reflectively. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research informants consist of the administrators and active members of the Gelanggang Buku community. The research results show that this community serves as an alternative literacy space that supports the development of critical thinking through book discussions, debates, and discourse analysis. The community also encourages active participation and equality in discussions, trains the ability to analyze and evaluate arguments, and fosters logical reflection and conclusion drawing. These findings indicate that the Gelanggang Buku community not only strengthens the culture of literacy but also significantly contributes to shaping students who are critical, reflective, and broad-minded.",
